System Of A Down Members ‘Don’t See Eye To Eye’

System of a Down guitarist Daron Malakian has revealed in an interview on Chris Jericho‘s “Talk Is Jericho” podcast that the band members “don’t see eye to eye.”

Fans of System of a Down who have been hoping for a new album from the band were left disappointed as Malakian said any forward progress has been halted by vocalist Serj Tankian.

The band had gone on sabbatical in 2006 following the release of Mezmerize and Hypnotize. The band then reunited in 2010 and performed across the world but did not work on any new music.

Back in July, Tankian revealed that he was the reason behind the band not working on any new music. Tankian said he didn’t even want to be involved in their last two albums.

“It is true that I and only I was responsible for the hiatus SOAD took in 2006,” Tankian revealed. “Everyone else wanted to continue at the same pace to tour and make records.”

Last year, Malakian accused Tankian of not wanting to work with the band on new music. Tankian said that creative and financial issues with Malakian led to the situation.

In a Facebook message, Tankian wrote that Malakian wanted to control the band’s creative process, take more of the publishing money and be the only band member to speak to the press.
