Stylist shares Princess Kate and Prince William’s ‘best look’ as a couple

Kate, Princess of Wales and Prince William are an iconic couple on and off the red carpet.

Personal stylist, personal shopper and image coach Melissa Lund spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about the couple’s “best looks” as a double act.

Melissa’s top pick was Kate and William’s matching outfits for their appearance at the Royal Foundation for Early Childhood at BAFTA in January 2023.

She pointed out that the royal duo had colour coordinated their chic looks.

Kate dazzled in a “fabulous” red trouser suit from Alexander McQueen, pairing this with a red clutch and red stilettos in the same shade.

She kept it simple on the jewellery front, wearing just her stunning Ceylon sapphire engagement ring and a pair of statement gold earrings.

William complemented his wife by pairing his navy suit with a red tie “the right shade for Kate’s trouser suit”.

This wasn’t the only time William dressed with his beautiful wife in mind. Just months ago in April Kate stepped out in Birmingham wearing a light plum dress and stilettos in the same colour.

The Prince gave a nod to this style choice – “notice how William’s pocket square background is the right tone for her dress”.

At the Top Gun: Maverick premiere in May 2022, the royal duo jointly decided on a “great monochrome look”.

Kate stunned in a form fitting, off-the-shoulder black and white Rouland Mouret gown, with William beside her in a dark suit complete with white pocket square.

At a Celtics game in Boston late last year, the pair wore various shades of blue, Kate in royal blue and William in more muted tones.

In their more casual attire, Melissa suggested “they look like they are having fun”. Melissa concluded that William’s habit of matching with Kate is a conscious decision.

She said: “As a man, William doesn’t have as many clothing choices as Kate but he does his best to coordinate with Kate in subtle ways – making sure that his tie/pocket square are the right shade for her dress.”
