The Olympic swimmer was in negotiations with ABC to be the 17th Bachelor, according to Radar Online, but eventually didn’t receive an offer. However, he told Access Hollywood earlier that year that he “definitely” considered the gig.

The HGTV personality’s twin brother, Drew, exclusively told Us Weekly in September 2018 that Jonathan “has been pitched, like, I think four times now, been approached to be the Bachelor.”

During her September 2018 appearance on the “Juicy Scoop” podcast, the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum revealed that she came close to accepting an offer. “I was in talks with them, oh God, probably 14 years ago,” she dished. “It was a long, long time ago because [my daughter] Ariana was probably, like, a year or 2 old. I don’t even know how that started ‘cause I wasn’t filming or doing anything … I guess a couple of people that I knew had kind of tried to align that.”
