Chelsea legend claims current stars are unhappy and says Pochettino 'is struggling to put his vision on the pitch' | The Sun

CHELSEA legend Emmanuel Petit has claimed Blues stars are unhappy as boss Mauricio Pochettino struggles to impose his vision.

Pochettino joined in the summer but has struggled in his first few months with Chelsea 12th in the Premier League.

He has failed to improve the club's dire home form and suffered defeat to Brentford last time out.

Petit, 53, believes there is discontent in the squad and compared Blues to top-of-the-league Tottenham and the spirit in their squad ahead of Monday's clash.

He told OLBG: "The confidence that Ange Postecoglou has instilled in the players is amazing, especially in midfield. You can see they play as friends and they're enjoying their football – and that's so important.

"It's impossible for every player to always be happy, but you must work at it.

"Pochettino has tried to get that with his team, but I'm not sure how many players are arriving with a smile on their face.

"Chelsea are struggling and the manager is struggling to put his vision on the pitch."

"Compare that to Tottenham. You can see the support from the managers and the players. They're enjoying it, and that's so important for me.

Chelsea have won just three of their ten Prem games but are through to the Carabao Cup quarter-final after beating Blackburn in mid-week.

A win against rivals Spurs could ignite their season and Pochettino is excited to return to the club he managed for five years.

He said: "It is really special because to come back after four years where we create amazing memories together. It is special, I cannot lie.

"I am not going to say nothing at the moment because until Monday you cannot guess what [reception] will happen there.

"The most important thing is people know we cannot forget all that we lived together, amazing memories there and then I am going to respect the people, how they are going to express [themselves].

"But it is not going to change my emotion, my view, my feelings about a club that has had an unbelievable journey."
