Man City eye stunning summer move for former target and 36-year-old full-back Dani Alves – The Sun
MANCHESTER CITY are reportedly plotting an audacious move for free agent Dani Alves.
The 36-year-old right-back is without a club after running his contract down at Paris Saint-Germain.
According to Globoesporte, the ex-Barcelona ace is on his way back to Europe to listen to two offers from clubs.
Alves recently captained Brazil to their first Copa America title since 2007, where he was named player of the tournament.
And it has been suggested that the Citizens are set to renew their interest in the veteran defender.
City boss Pep Guardiola is familiar with Alves having spent four seasons with him at Barcelona – a period where the Catalans won two Champions League titles and the La Liga three times.
Should Alves make the move to the Etihad, he would provide high-quality competition for Kyle Walker.
City still have Danilo on their books, but there have been rumours that Guardiola is keen to offload the former Real Madrid man this summer.
Alves – who made 32 appearances for PSG last season – recently hit out at former team-mate Lionel Messi after the Argentinian claimed Brazil were favoured during the Copa America.
He told SporTV: "A friend is not always right just because he's a friend. You can say it in the heat of the moment, but I still won't agree.
