Monaco set to launch £19m transfer bid for Sevilla star Wissam Ben Yedder who famously downed Man Utd – The Sun

AS MONACO are ready to launch a £19million bid for Sevilla's Wissam Ben Yedder, according to reports.

The French international has starred in Spain since joining Sevilla from Toulouse in 2016.

But Estadio Deportivo insists that Julen Lopetegui has told the striker he will see his game time reduced next season.

Sevilla have already signed Luuk De Jong and Munas Dabbur, while PSV forward Steven Bergwijn has also been linked.

And the report adds that Monaco are ready to offer Rony Lopes plus cash for Ben Yedder, 28.

Two years ago Ben Yedder came off the bench to send Manchester United crashing out of Europe.

The shock result saw Jose Mourinho's side fail to reach the Champions League quarter-finals.

And it may explain why the Special One was so annoyed to see his bosses fail to land him Harry Maguire when he was United boss at the start of last season.

After watching the ace star in a 4-0 win over Chelsea, Mourinho hailed the former Leicester man's display.

Asked if he wanted to sign Maguire, he told Sky Sports: "You're right – One year later!

"I think he fully deserves the man of the match. He was solid like a rock.

"As we know he is very important for a team – to have not just the tactical knowledge, to have that personality, the sense of reading the game all the time.

"He was fantastic. I think he gave the team confidence."
