Fury at crackpot council plan to ban dogs from ALL parks because of poo

Bosses at Kent's Borough Green Parish Council have threatened a "total" ban of dogs from public green spaces.

The crackpot plan is thought to involve issuing on-the-spot fines to dog-walkers – who reacted with fury when the ban was proposed at a recent council meeting.

Ten locals used the meeting to hit out at the scheme, which was dreamt up by loony council chairman Mike Taylor.

Councillor Bartosz Wlodarczyk fumed: "I have a feeling that our chairman forgets that parks are open spaces and even sports grounds are run by public money.

“There is a slight problem in Borough Green with dog fouling, but there are only occasional incidents like everywhere else. I simply disagree with chairman Mike."

Others took to Facebook to complain about the proposed ban.

Carol Martin wrote: "Not fair on us owners who do clear up, my dog needs space to run around and play."

Dennis Homewood added: "It is not the dogs. Find the guilty owners and put a bloody bag over their heads."

The final version of the plan is yet to be signed off – and it is believed the council is only considering on-the-spot fines.

Taylor said: "We have put up laminated posters and encouraged owners to keep their dogs on leads, but it hasn’t worked.

"The only tool we have is to threaten a ban."
