Alison Hammond has hit out at Celebs Go Dating producers for attempting to make her eat a hot dog on camera to try and get a shot of a “fat person eating”.

The This Morning star looked for love on the E4 show earlier this year, but now claims producers left a plate of hot dogs out for her to eat in hopes of filming it.

Alison, 45, recalled the situation on Fleur East’s podcast The Reality of Reality, revealing she was initially baffled by the situation.

Alison said: "When I did Celebs Go Dating, do you know when they do the pre-titles and you do all the little bits to camera, I noticed the producer had some hotdogs on the side and I was doing my little blowing the kisses to camera.

"And I was wondering about it and then he bought a hotdog over and went 'Oh can you just eat a hot dog?'

"So then straightaway I said, 'What do I need to eat a hot dog for?’ when I realised, oh it's the fat person eating."

Alison then revealed that she knew what kind of shot producers were after.

She added: "I totally get that producers are making a show that there needs to be entertainment and it needs to be funny and it needs to be fun and there need to be highs and lows.

"I'm seeing it more from a producer side of things now.

"I can kind of manipulate things in the sense that I know what they're going to want."

Alison previously opened up on her appearance on the show after meeting love interest Ben Kusi.

“Ben and I get on really well. I like his energy. He loves my banter, he laughs at my jokes and he’s not too much. He listens and he’s kind,” she exclusively told OK! magazine.

“I’ve really enjoyed doing the whole getting out there and dating thing. But it’s a bit awkward.

“Dating is difficult full stop, and doing it on TV is even harder. But you do get into it and get the flow. It’s my job to strike up a rapport with people.”
