Amanda Holden says she ‘died for 40 seconds’ giving birth to daughter Hollie: ‘I owe the NHS my life’
Amanda Holden has described the terrifying day she "died for 40 seconds" while giving birth to her daughter Hollie.
The 49 year old made the incredible revelation on her Heart Radio show, where she was promoting her latest single Over the Rainbow, which is helping to raise money for NHS Charities Together.
Speaking to co-host Jamie Theakston, Amanda, who recently dug up her wedding dress to mow her lawn, explained: "I owe the NHS my life, without being too dramatic."
Building off that one comment, Jamie, 49, asked her to remind everyone what she's been through and how the NHS has helped her and her family over the years.

Discussing her own experience first, she said: "When I gave birth to Hollie, my eight year old daughter who I know is listening, she was an emergency and I haemorrhaged, basically.
"I actually did pass away for 40 seconds and then I went into a coma. But the NHS was there holding my hand and my husband's hand so I feel more sorry for him to be honest, he went through it, watching it all."
The NHS doctors have also saved Amanda's sister Debbie after she was involved in a brutal car accident back in 2016.
"She experienced a brain injury and is now fully recovered. But they were there for that," the singer, who recently admitted she bounced on her daughter's trampoline naked, said.
The blonde beauty, who also shares 14 year old daughter Alexa with Chris, then lost her voice as she recalled the birth of her stillborn baby in 2011.
Choking on her words, she said: "And then of course it's been well documented that Chris and I had a child, a little boy called Theo, who was born sleeping at an NHS hospital and again they were incredible to us.
"We couldn't have got through without them."

As the song began playing, Jamie added: "I'm getting a bit emotional – I'm so proud of you. What an amazing thing to do!"
Sharing the clip on her Twitter page, many of Amanda's followers couldn't help but praise her for the song.
