Faris also speaks about the “lesson learned” from their relationship.
Both Chris Pratt and Anna Faris are doing promo tours right now for their latest films, "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" and "Overboard," respectively — meaning one topic keeps coming up: their divorce.
The two filed for divorce back in December and while Pratt was pretty mum on the subject until now, he briefly spoke about it in Entertainment Weekly. Faris, in turn, was asked about his comments during an interview Thursday with Michael Yo and Tony Fly on Hits 1 in Hollywood on SiriusXM Hits 1.
"Divorce sucks," Pratt told EW. "But at the end of the day, we’ve got a great kid who’s got two parents who love him very much. And we’re finding a way to navigate this while still remaining friends and still being kind to one another. It’s not ideal, but yeah, I think both of us are actually probably doing better."
The former couple share son Jack, 5.
"We have a great friendship, we really do and we always have," Faris said in response. "And it’s always tough to envision your future as one thing, but I think there is a lot of love. And in what we do there is so much unpredictability."
"I think it’s a lesson learned a little bit in terms of keeping relationships a little more private, potentially, even though I pride myself on being a pretty open person," added Anna, who is currently dating cinematographer Michael Barrett. "But, I don’t know, it’s tough when you’re under the scrutiny."
Pratt and Faris announced their eight-year marriage was coming to an end in August 2017. "Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed," they said in a joint statement. "Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward. We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another."
