Camila Cabello On Shawn Mendes: ‘I Love Him With All My Heart And Always Have’
We all ought to be super happy about Señorita… because if that duet had never come around, we might never have seen Shawmila grow into anything, either!
Camila Cabello revealed as much in a brand new interview on Friday afternoon, when she sat down with E! News at Elle‘s Women in Music event at Fashion Week. And during her talk with the outlet, the 22-year-old pop star wasn’t bashful about describing how working together on the song is what brought her and Shawn Mendes back together again after a bit of time drifting apart!
Speaking about how the song itself turned out to actually rekindle Shawmila’s friendship — and then, eventually, their relationship — Camila offered up (below):
“We went back and forth for eight months deciding whether or not we were going to do the song together.”
Wow! So it wasn’t a sure shot from the beginning!!
Finally, though, after wrestling the pros and cons of working together, they both jumped in — and that’s when they found themselves back in each other’s lives in a big way.
And the rest, as they say, is history.
But to hear Camila talk about it now, well, it can’t help but put a smile on your face! She goes about her pop star boyfriend (below):
“I love him with all my heart and always have. We’ve known each other for a really long time… We’ve always been there for each other. I think we drifted because we weren’t hanging out as as much. It was fun to be able to reconnect and hang out again.”
Awww! That’s so adorable!!
It’s not just the song that brought Shawmila together, though; Camila’s creative process has benefitted from her newfound love, too! The singer opened up a bit about how falling in love with the 21-year-old Mendes has made her a better artist and performer as well (below):
“I think falling in love is the ultimate artistic inspiration because it opens you up. Falling in love, for me, just brings out all of my vulnerabilities. All these things show up for me and it just makes you open. When I am in love I listen to songs and I just cry. I cry easier. That must mean that I’m more open and more in touch with my emotions. All the spectrum of emotions… joy, fear, all of it.”
What do U think of these two incredible lovebirds, Perezcious readers??
