Coleen Rooney has posted sweet snaps of herself and her children online, breaking her social media silence for the first time since husband Wayne's hotel picture scandal.

The mum-of-four shared images of her and her boys cuddled up together on their recent beach holiday in Wales.

The 35-year-old appeared happy and relaxed, wearing a denim playsuit and over-sized sunglasses with three of her sons around her, amid the latest scandal involving husband Wayne, also 35, who was not on the getaway trip.

She captioned the images with a heart and globe emoji.

Footballer Wayne has been caught up in a scandal after photographs of him sleeping in a hotel room with three girls went viral last month.

In the images, he was clothed and sleeping upright on a chair.

Last month, it was revealed that he had purchased the photographs for £1 and called the women in the image, Brooke Morgan, Elise Melvin, both 21, and their pal Eleanor Hoggarth, "decent" just days after it was claimed the images were part of a blackmail plot.

The trio have apologised and admitted getting "carried away" by taking the pictures of Wayne asleep.

Other images show Wayne leaning towards a blonde woman at a nightclub in Manchester.

There is no suggestion of any wrongdoing on the football star's part.

The scandal has led to police involvement. Greater Manchester Police have said they have received no reports about the incident, but that Cheshire Constabulary are investigating the claims.

"We have received a complaint of blackmail which we are reviewing", a spokesperson said.

A source has since told The Sun that Coleen is supportive of her husband.

"Of course, as a staunch Catholic, Coleen takes her marriage vows seriously," the said. "She committed to Wayne for better or for worse.

"Crucially, she will not ruin her boys' lives by taking them away from their dad and getting involved in an acrimonious divorce battle. Family is everything to her.

"Coleen has had so much stick over the years for standing by Wayne — most of it from people who have never met either of them."

As Wayne has purchased the images from the three women, he can now take legal action if they are used by the press or on social media.

A spokesman for Wayne said: "The three girls who took the photographs contacted Wayne's lawyers and volunteered to hand over all pictures that were taken that night and the copyrights in them.

"They have also, at their own suggestion, made a written apology to him.

"These were three decent young women who went for a night out. They did not expect Wayne to end up in their company and are remorseful about how things turned out with the pictures.

"They got carried away and did something they later regretted. They did not expect it to end up in the mainstream media after it was posted on social media and they decided to take steps to put things right."
