Deadpool Crashed Stephen Colbert and Delivered Some Sick Burns
Ryan Reynolds continued his superhuman quest to pop up every single place imaginable to promote Deadpool 2 last night, making a surprise appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
“At what point will audiences say, ‘No more superheroes?'” Colbert asked during his opening monologue, which prompted Reynolds — in full Deadpool costume — to suddenly appear.
“Please, guys, no one stand up,” the actor said. “It’s CBS, I know how old your audience is.”
The Merc with the Mouth graciously offered to be the show’s guest for the night, which Colbert had to turn down because of booked guest Jamie Foxx. “Well, he’s got boyish charm for days,” Deadpool conceded. “I, for one, loved his work in Back to the Future.”
Before turning the stage back over to its rightful host, Deadpool turned his trademark meta humor on the state of late-night itself.
“In our own way, we late-night hosts are superheroes,” Colbert said.
“Because you’re all mostly white men?” Reynolds replied.
The R-rated hero also gave his best attempt at his own monologue. Check out the full video of his appearance, but know beforehand that Reynolds does not bust out any showtunes. There is a devastating Eric Trump burn though, so it balances out.
So what do you think?
