Escape To The Chateau star Angel Strawbridge, 43, has taken to social media to post an adorable picture of her and daughter Dorothy, seven. The television personality, who fronts the show with husband Dick Strawbridge, 61, was also celebrating her own birthday, as she reflected on tempting fate.

Seven years ago I was blessed with the perfect birthday pressie!

Angel said that today would be an “extra special birthday-themed Wonderful Wednesday” as she shared the post to the couple’s 139,000 Instagram followers.

The mother-of-two posed alongside her daughter as they looked deep in thought while engaging in crafts at their lavish home.

Angel, who runs a London-based vintage patisserie, said that seven years ago, she had been “blessed” with the “perfect” gift after welcoming her daughter into the world a day before her own birthday.

In a candid social media post, the redhead said: “Seven years ago I was blessed with the perfect birthday pressie! Dorothy Francis Strawbridge.

“After the tears had gone I asked Dick to pass me my phone…. I’d been taking pictures of ‘girls’ outfits for weeks, but, as we had kept the gender a surprise, I had not wanted to tempt fate, although in my heart I knew she was a little girl!”

The East London born star went on to add: “Years have passed, and Dorothy is still our perfect little baby…Bossy, energetic & strong-minded…. We just knew she was always going to be the boss here at the Chateau!

“This year, and hopefully for many years to come, I will spend part of my birthday (today) making sure Dorothy’s birthday (tomorrow) is magical.”

Angel continued: “Without giving too much away, there will be a cake, and a shed…. in the words of Dorothy… ‘I’d like one next to Arthur’s Shed… but bigger’.

“She was chancing her arm, as she knows we only do equality between them ..… that said, we want to make our little birthday girl smile, so watch this space…”

The businesswoman went on to say: “As it’s my birthday, for this week, there will be up to 25% off my favourites!

“Have a Wonderful Wednesday!”

Her post, which has been liked over 5,000 times, was soon inundated with compliments from the couple’s loyal social media followers.

Dick chose to tease the follower, saying: “Filming at the moment but we’ll let you know when we know!!”

Escape to the Chateau aired its seventh series last November as Dick and Angel updated fans on the latest developments to Chateau de la Motte-Husson.

Initially, Dick and Angel were looking at more modest properties such as small farmhouses, until they realised that at such low prices, they could buy a castle.

For £280,000, they purchased the 19th-century Chateau, which listed 45 rooms, a walled garden and was surrounded by a moat on 12-acres of land.

The last episode of the Channel 4 programme came out at the end of 2020.

Escape to the Chateau is available to stream on All 4 now.
