Years after she testified before a House Committee in support of the Sexual Assault Survivors Bill of Rights, Evan Rachel Wood has revealed the name of her abuser.
On Monday, Wood alleged that it was her ex-fiancé Marilyn Manson who “horrifically” abused her for years.
The actress, model and musician is at least the fifth woman to come forward with allegations of abuse against Manson, whose original name is is Brian Warner.
“He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander or blackmail,” Wood wrote on Instagram.
“I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives,” added Wood, who started dating Manson in 2006 when she was still a teenager and got engaged to him four years later.
“I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent,” the Golden Globe nominee added.
Manson’s record label reportedly dropped the rock musician after Wood named him.
