Feminists and Ariana Grande Fans Are Not Happy with Pete Davidson’s Joke About Birth Control

Feminists and Arianators have taken to social media to attack Ariana Grande’s fiancé Pete Davidson for a joke he made during the 44th season premiere of Saturday Night Live. In a routine performed during the Weekend Update segment of the show, Pete, who is known for his crude jokes, basically suggested that he was trying to get Ariana pregnant so that she couldn’t leave him. Here’s the joke –

Last night I switched her birth control with Tic Tacs. I believe in us, and all. I just want to make sure she can’t go anywhere.”

Many took exception to the notion that Pete would joke about being that irresponsible. The tweets venting against Pete have continued since last night’s episode of SNL aired.

In spite of the overwhelming negative response to Pete’s joke, at least a few people on Twitter did try to defend him.

However, given Pete’s history of crude humor, it is hard to believe that any of this social media back-and-forth will bother him at all.

What do you think about Pete’s joke? Was it funny, or in totally bad taste?
