Fabinho sent a WhatsApp message to friends before deciding to accept a £40m move to Liverpool.
The Brazilian is yet to feature for Jurgen Klopp’s side in the Premier League this season as he adapts to life in the Premier League.
But the former Monaco star asked his friends to pray for him in order to receive guidance and direction about whether to accept the offer to move to Anfield.
"He sent a WhatsApp audio message to his friends back home," Fabinho’s friend Paul Conrado told the Sun . "Asking them to pray for God to give him guidance and direction about which decision to make.
"He said he wanted to know that going to Liverpool was the will of God for his life.
"He wanted to feel peace about it and said he wouldn’t do it if he didn’t feel God wanted it.”
The 24-year-old could feature after the international break, with Klopp in no rush to hand him a debut due to the Reds’ perfect start to the season.
A tough run after the break could further delay his debut, with Tottenham away perhaps considered too risky to experiment, with Paris Saint-Germain next up in the Champions League.
But the home Premier League clash with Southampton after that looks to be the most likely game for Fabinho to finally make his official debut.
