Olly Murs, 37, took to Twitter, in view of his 6.9 million followers, to share his health news, prompting Rylan to respond with a message wishing the star a speedy recovery. In a tweet posted last week, the singer-songwriter shared news of his recovery journey with fans. He said: “I am gutted to have to write this message but unfortunately I’ve had to undergo major new knee surgery again this week. Been trying my best to avoid having it done but the op was needed and it went well.”

“I’m recovering in hospital…”

The Dance With Me Tonight singer posted photos of himself in his hospital room.

In one of the images, he is wearing a hospital gown while using crutches.

Rylan Clark, 33, quipped: “Love ur dress where’s it from,” (sic) before adding: “Get well soon mate.”

Olly was recently forced to cancel a string of shows which were due to take place over the summer.

In a statement, he said: “I am absolutely gutted to have to cancel my summer tour this year, but unfortunately I’ve had to have new major knee surgery.

“I’m devastated I won’t be performing these shows, and can only apologise for any inconvenience caused.

“Rest assured I will be fighting fit for new music later this year!”

The Voice mentor also shared the following message on Twitter, alongside an image of his bandaged knee: “I’m having to cancel all my summer shows this year whilst I focus on my rehab.”

Another image showed a close up of Olly’s left knee, which had been operated on.

“Refunds will all be available from your point of purchase and please keep an eye out for any emails from your ticketing agent over the next few days.”

The singer said he was “b****y sorry”, but that his recovery had to take priority.

Olly explained: “My focus now is on recovering and I’ll keep you all updated on how I’m getting on!”

He seemed to be staying positive despite his ill health as he encouraged his fans to “stay cheeky”.

Last August, Olly underwent knee surgery after an on-stage accident left him injured.

In a video on Instagram at the time, the Starstruck host told worried fans: “Basically, after my second song a fragment of bone that was in my knee after I jumped managed to lodge itself on the back of my knee, which basically shut my leg down and during the gig I was limping the whole time.”

He underwent “major knee surgery” in 2019 too.

The former X Factor contestant left his record label last month, sparking a bidding war as other firms are looking to snap him up quickly.

Olly had been signed to RCA Records since 2016.

He had previously been signed to Syco and Epic Records.
