Gloria Estefan, 63, has reacted to Stacey Dooley’s biscuit creation, which she baked with the Cuban-American singer, songwriter as her inspiration. The documentary filmmaker, 34, created her homage to one of her favourite stars on The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer last night.

However, Stacey’s plans for her showstopper creation went slightly awry, as judge Paul Hollywood queried it’s presentation.

Paul and fellow baking expert Prue Leith also spotted Stacey had left the decorating mould on her finished piece.

Former Strictly Come Dancing champion Stacey later held the biscuit up to the camera as she gave a funny message to Gloria.

She said: “Gloria, you won’t remember me, but we met in 2018, it was one of the best days of my life.

“And, this is what you mean to me.”

Gloria then noticed the video, which was shared by GBBO’s official Twitter page last night.

The Rhythm Is Gonna Get You hitmaker took issue with the lack of hair involved in the decoration of Stacey’s edible homage to her.

However, Gloria also shared her delight over Stacey’s sweet gesture and branded her design “simple and yummy”.

She replied in view of her 537,000 followers: “Thank you so much, Stace!!

“Although…where’s my hair, girl?

“I quite love your version…simple and yummy!”

Stacey’s boyfriend Kevin Clifton saw Gloria’s comment and declared that she would be overjoyed by her response.

Kevin also shared a video of a cake he bought Stacey for her birthday.

The creation saw Stacey and Gloria’s faces on gingerbread biscuits alongside the words, “Happy Birthday”.

She laughed as she said to the camera: “This is how it was supposed to look.”

Ahead of the show being aired this evening, Stacey said she was “mortified” about her efforts.

Speaking on This Morning, host Phillip Schofield told Stacey she seemed “absolutely unprepared” for the show.

“I’m so mortified that this is ever going to see the light of day,” she admitted.

Kevin also shared a video of Stacey on Bake Off last night, during which he could be heard laughing as he watched the moment she unveiled her Gloria-inspired creation live.
