Grimes has opened up about her pregnancy with Elon Musk’s baby, as she also revealed her ‘pregnancy avatar’ to the world.
The musician, 31, is expecting her first child with billionaire Tesla boss Elon, 48, and admitted the child will have an unusual upbringing.
As she unveiled her digital alter-ego WarNymph, both to separate her digital self from her physical self and as a way to keep working throughout her pregnancy, Grimes admitted she wants her child to get into raving from a young age.
Speaking to The Face magazine, Grimes explained: ‘Children need to get into raving, but I don’t think I’ll rave with my kid… I don’t think kids and adults need to rave together.
‘But I wish I had discovered dance music at an earlier age. I don’t have a problem with late bedtimes/nocturnalism. Unless there’s some health risk I should know about.
‘The baby has already been exposed to a lot of techno in the womb.’
She added: ‘I’ll probably have to send them to live in the woods with my grandpa periodically so they aren’t too spoiled. He’s very intense. Lots of physical labour in the cold and whatnot, haha.’
Grimes – real name Claire Boucher – also admitted that the memes about her choice of names for the child were ‘on point’.
Grimes and Elon have been in a relationship since May 2018, and she revealed her pregnancy on social media, telling her fans: ‘Fake or real? Haha. Wow I’m starting to feel bad haha…
‘How do y’all cope with working and having a baby?? I’m sorry I haven’t been promoting my album properly or on social media more.
‘This whole thing has been a bit of an ordeal. Had some complications early on, a decent second trimester but starting to hurt everywhere at 25 wksz. What were yalls experience w this stuff like?
‘I feel like I was woefully ill prepared cuz I dunno if pregnancy is as visible or discussed as it should be. I just didn’t rly understand what I was getting into (sic)’.
