Guy Pearce shocked an Australian TV audience when he revealed disgraced actor Kevin Spacey was a “handsy guy” on the set of “LA Confidential.”
The “Memento” star, 50, starred alongside Spacey in the 1997 film based on James Ellroy’s novel, and suggested he was a little too full-on.
Speaking to Andrew Denton on chat show Interview, Guy said of Spacey: “Yeah … yeah. Tough one to talk about at the moment. Amazing actor; incredible actor. Mmm. Slightly difficult time with Kevin, yeah.”
He added: “He’s a handsy guy. Thankfully I was 29, and not 14.”
Spacey was infamously accused of sexually assaulting “Star Trek: Discovery” actor Anthony Rapp when he was just 14.
Then aged 26, he is alleged to have invited Rapp to his New York apartment for a party before picking him up and placing him on his bed when the party had finished.
Rapp, now 46, claims Spacey then climbed on top of him and made sexual advances before he managed to “wriggle free”.
After Rapp’s shocking Buzzfeed interview in which the allegations were made, a number of other men came forward with their own claims against Spacey.
Within hours of the allegations, Spacey posted a statement on Twitter apologizing but saying he could not remember the incident.
He also publicly came out as gay for the first time.
The statement said: “I have a lot of respect and admiration for Anthony Rapp as an actor. I’m beyond horrified to hear his story.
“I honestly do not remember the encounter, it would have been over 30 years ago.
“But if I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior, and I am sorry for the feelings he describes having carried with him all these years.
Back on Interview, Pearce turned his attention to his Neighbours co-star Kylie, joking: “Not as handsy as I’d like her to be.”
“I sort of had a crush on her [during Neighbours], I have more of a crush on her now.”
