Harry and Meghan’s relationship with Eugenie is ‘one of few they’ve retained’, says expert

Meghan Markle has revealed that her and Prince Harry enjoyed a secret night out with her husband's cousin Princess Eugenie and her now-husband Jack Brooksbank before the public knew they were dating.

The 40 year old sat down with pal Ellen DeGeneres on her eponymous chat show on Thursday night, where she discussed how she and Prince Harry, 37, had spent Halloween with their two children.

And while on the subject of the holiday, she dropped the bombshell about how they partied away in disguise.

Royal expert Katie Nicholl has told OK! how their connection with Princess Eugenie, 31, and Jack, 35, is one of the only ones they have kept within the Royal Family.

Katie says: "Eugenie and Jack are very close to Harry and Meghan.

"It's actually one of the few close relationships Harry and Meghan have retained in the royal family."

Speaking about their night out, Meghan told Ellen: "[Prince Harry] came to see me in Toronto and our friends and his cousin Eugenie and now her husband Jack, they came as well.

"And the four of us snuck out in Halloween costumes to just have one fun night on the town before it was out in the world that we were a couple."

Surprised by the revelation, host Ellen asked: “So you went with Harry to a Halloween party and they had no idea it was the two of you?"

"It was a post-apocalypse theme," Meghan confirmed. "So we had all this very bizarre costuming on and we were able to just sort of have one final fun night out."

Look out for 'Kate At 40', a collector's edition of OK! magazine packed full of exclusive content about the Duchess Of Cambridge. On sale now for £4.99 at most good newsagents.

Meghan also touched on her and Prince Harry's connection with Princess Eugenie and Jack as she gave her bombshell interview to Oprah Winfrey earlier this year.

She said: "Eugenie and I had known each other before I had known Harry, so that was comfortable. We're friends with them as a couple."

Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand also discussed the relationship the couples have in their biography of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Finding Freedom.

They wrote: "Out of all the Queen’s grand-children, Harry and Eugenie have one of the most natural connections.

"Like Harry, Eugenie is loyal, honest and great fun. The two had many nights out together in London.

"Harry had always confided in his cousin when it came to the women in his life," they finished.
