Hayden Panettiere's younger brother Jansen has died aged 28.
A representative for Hayden confirmed her brother's death to ABC News, as they said that a cause of death is unknown and that an investigation is underway.
The publication said that Hayden asked for privacy in the wake of Jansen's death.
Another US media outlet, TMZ, quoted a source as saying Jansen's death was discovered after law enforcement was called to a residence in New York on Sunday evening around 5.30pm.
OK! has contacted Hayden's representatives for comment.
Much like his actress sister, Jansen enjoyed a successful acting career, with a role in The Walking Dead, and starring alongside his sister in the 2004 Disney Channel movies Tiger Cruise and 2005's Racing Stripes.
In the early 2000's, Jansen appeared on Shia LaBeouf's show Even Stevens and had a recurring role in Nickelodeon's The X's.
He also did plenty of voiceover work, including lending his voice to Shovelmouth Boy in 2006's Ice Age: The Meltdown, as well as Truman X in the Nickelodeon television series The X's, and Periwinkle in Blues Clues.
TMZ reports that the actor was tied to five new projects at the time of his death.
In recent years, Jansen focused much of his attention on his graffiti-inspired artwork, which he shared on his Instagram page, where the bio reads that 3% of all purchases would go to help people affected by the war in Ukraine.
On one of the pictures pinned to the top of his Instagram grid, US actress Selma Blair commented: "Fly with the angels," while another follower wrote: "Rest in power."
There is also a link to a website selling Jensen's creations, with his artwork being featured on items such as t-shirts, hoodies and backpacks.
The website shows a note that appears to have been written by Janson, which reads: "I AM a good person. I don’t do anything illegal illegal or at least I don’t do illegal things that hurt people in front of me, if that makes sense.
"I’ve done drugs but I don’t steal. Not to say that anyone that’s ever stolen something is a bad person and far from it. Meaning I have my moments like everyone else.
"I was frustrated with the whole acting thing so I would take it out on weird things things like clothes, like ugggggggg sneezing into a white shirt 'try to get that stain out!' Drop shirt."
Jansen's sister Hayden became a household name when she starred as Claire Bennet in the NBC superhero series Heroes from 2006 to 2010.
She has made no mention of her brother's death on her social media accounts.
