Jake Quickenden was trolled on social media moments after explaining how he lost his dad and brother within four years.

The 32 year old was appearing on The Real Full Monty On Ice where contestants are stripping to raise awareness of cancers in intimate areas of the body while urging viewers to get themselves checked out.

Jake's family was completely torn apart following two heartbreaking tragedies.

Nearly 12 years ago the singer's dad Paul lost his life after battling non-familial bone cancer.

Then a second bombshell arrived – Jake's younger brother Ollie fell ill and died.

Having injured his knee playing football, Ollie had tests which revealed he had osteosarcoma – an aggressive tumour on his knee at the age of just 19.

Despite being on the show for important reasons, cruel viewers decided to send him stick on twitter.

One user wrote: "Isn’t @JakeQuickenden the most irritating man ever."

She was quickly put in her place after the star re-tweeted the unkind comment.

One fan of Jake replied: "I’m sure that’s an opinion you could have kept to yourself. To actually tag the guy in it is awful. Words have consequences whether you like the person or not."

Another said: "Not at all he is bloody fabulous x never heard of him until tonight x what a top chap xx".

An emotional third person told Jake: "Spent most of it crying. My mum passed away in October from Cancer so it means a lot to see you all trying to raise as much awareness as possible. Thank you."

Other nasty tweets were sent although they didn't tag him in and one read: "Watching that full monty thing on ITV and Jake Quickenden just comes across as the most arrogant t**t going."

Another said: "Jesus Christ, Jake Quickenden is the most arrogant t**t."

The Dancing On Ice winner spoke about his dad's death previously – and wants others to learn from his mistakes.

"Dad being Dad was too stubborn to go to the doctor’s, and kept saying he would be fine," he said.

"When he eventually did go to the doctor’s, they ran some tests and he was diagnosed with myeloma, cancer of the bone marrow. Unfortunately, it was pretty much terminal.

"It was such a shock – it came out of nowhere."
