Days after Jeannie Mai’s ex-husband gushed about having a baby with another woman, the TV personality is redirecting the spotlight onto herself.
“On the left is the first time I tried on this dress, at a weight I’ve kept for 12 years, 103 lbs,” Mai shared on Instagram Wednesday. “Staying 103 came from my self control to lose ‘chubby’ teenage weight and a stressful idea that my body was built to look best ‘thin.’”
Today, Mai says she’s in a different place at age 39 and wants to re-evaluate her life’s choices adding, “Why the hell should my body be forced to suffer (from my over controlling ways) too?”
“The Real” co-host said three months ago she adopted a new eating regimen that has allowed her to gain 17 pounds and she’s loving the new skin she’s in.
“I don’t have a weight goal … just a promise to be as physically strong as I am mentally indestructible,” she added, promising to put herself first moving forward.
Her “Transformation Tuesday” post comes on the heels of news that her ex-husband, Freddy Harteis, is expecting a baby girl with another woman.
Mai and Harteis called it quits in October after 10 years of marriage. She previously said they could never agree on whether to have children.
