Jennifer Lawrence marries Cooke Maroney ‘in Dior wedding dress’

Jennifer Lawrence is officially a married woman after tying the knot with Cooke Maroney on Saturday in a star-studded wedding.

The Oscar-winning actress is said to have walked down the aisle in a Newport, Rhode Island ceremony yesterday evening wearing a Dior wedding dress, according to People.

After saying their vows, Jennifer, 29, and Cooke, 34, hosted a wedding reception at the swanky Belcourt of Newport, a stunning mansion that was designed by esteemed architect Richard Morris Hunt in 1894, and inspired by Louis XIII’s hunting lodge at Versaille.

Around 150 guests were in attendance at the reception with a-listers including, Adele, Cameron Diaz, Emma Stone, Amy Schumer and Kris Jenner.

On Friday, stars such as Nicole Richie, Joel Madden and Sienna Miller were spotted heading into the rehearsal dinner, where Jennifer and Cooke hosted their pre-wedding clambake.

It was previously reported that guests would dine on a whole feast of goodies during the wedding day, including specialty cocktails such as bourbon old fashioneds and gin cucumber lavender champagnes.

So basically very fancy and apt for an Oscar-winner.

Canapes that were expected to be served up, included cod beignet, sweet potato flat cakes, brussels sprouts with cured egg yolk and smoked pork belly with pickled apple.

The main course was just as fancy with wood-roasted fish with herbs and lemon-infused butter and five-week-aged leg of beef with foragers sauce on the menu.

And, of course, there was desert with fire-baked sourdough bread pudding with chocolate – erm, yum – salted caramel and fresh apple, cauldron fritters with bourbon cream and cinnamon sugar and homemade s’mores for dessert.

Those guests certainly weren’t going hungry or thirsty.

Jennifer and Cooke, an art dealer, were first romantically linked in June 2018 and confirmed their engagement in February.

Rumours of their engagement were sparked when the Hunger Games actress was seen sporting a huge ring during a romantic dinner at Raoul’s in New York City.

In September, the couple were reported to have married after they were spotted at a marriage bureau in NYC with paperwork, two security guards and a friend – potentially a witness.

It seems Jennifer always knew Cooke was ‘the one’, even if she didn’t think of marriage right away, as she told Entertainment Tonight this summer: ‘He’s the greatest human being I’ve ever met. I wasn’t at a place where I was like, “I’m ready to get married”.

‘I just met Cooke and I wanted to marry him. We wanted to marry each other, we wanted to commit fully. He’s my best friend, so I want to legally bind him to me forever.

‘Fortunately, the paperwork exists for such a thing. It’s the greatest. You find your favourite person on the planet, you’re like: “You can’t leave”.’
