John Legend Set For ‘Christmas In Rockefeller Center’

John Legend is set to perform at NBC’s annual Christmas in Rockefeller Center tree lighting ceremony on November 28.

The line-up of performers includes Diana Ross, Tony Bennett, Brett Eldredge, Darci Lynne Farmer, Diana Krall, Martina McBride, Pentatonix and Kellie Pickler, with Howie Mandel as a special guest.

The main attraction of the event is the lighting of a 75 year-old Norway spruce in Rockefeller Center in Midtown Manhattan. The 72-foot tall, 45-foot wide tree weighs more than 12 tons.

NBC Universal, in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, is supporting a tree-planting campaign called “Green Is Universal.” The media group has donated $50,000 to restore tree canopies destroyed by recent wildfires and hurricanes in the U.S.

This is the 86th edition of the Christmas in Rockefeller Center tree lighting event.

The first official Rockefeller Center Christmas tree went up in 1933.

NBC will telecast the ceremony live from 8 p.m. ET on November 28.
