Jose Mourinho takes drastic measures after FA Cup final defeat

Jose Mourinho seemingly deleted his Instagram account after receiving a clutch of abusive comments.

The Manchester United boss’s account is no longer live as the Red Devils were beaten in the FA Cup final by Chelsea, which confirmed a trophy-less season for United.

Eden Hazard’s first-half penalty was enough to win the competition for Chelsea on a disappointing afternoon for the Old Trafford giants.

Mourinho joined Instagram after being appointed as United manager in 2016.

He amassed 2.8million followers, regularly uploading pictures from both his professional and family life to share with supporters around the world.

Users are met with a message saying ‘user not found’ when trying to access Mourinho’s page.

Mourinho was defiant after the final, insisting his side deserved to climb the Wembley steps to lift the trophy.

"I congratulated them because they won but I don’t think they deserved to win," he told BBC One.

"I congratulated them because I am a sportsman. They scored one more goal than us and they got the cup and so I’ve got to do what my job asks me to do.

"I’m the Manchester United manager and I have to be respectful, not just because they were my previous club but because they were the opponent that won the cup.

"I think we deserved to win, I think we were the best team, but that’s football."

Will Mourinho ever win the title with Man United?
