For her sit-down with President Donald Trump to discuss prison reform on Wednesday, Kim Kardashian traded her typical body-con for an outfit that meant business.
The 37-year-old reality star wore an oversized black pantsuit by French brand Vetements, which featured the label’s name cheekily embroidered across the crotch. Kim’s exact suit isn’t currently available for purchase, but similar Vetements blazers typically start at about $3,000, with matching trousers retailing for around $1,000.
Controversial Vetements creative director Demna Gvasalia, who also designs for Balenciaga and is known for slapping his relatively simple clothes (like graphic tees and distressed denim) with four-figure price tags, has shaded Trump in the past. In 2016, when questioned about his decision to cast only white models in one of his runway shows, Gvasalia told the Telegraph, “Well, I thought at a time when Donald Trump might be a President of the United States that I, a clothes maker, have to make political statement about ethnic diversity is funny.”
As a show of support for her husband Kanye West, who has openly supported Trump, Kim finished her outfit with a pair of transparent neon pumps that appear to be from West’s Yeezy line.
Kim’s suit is strikingly similar to the look her older sister (and fellow beauty mogul) Kourtney wore for her own trip to Capitol Hill in April, where she pushed Congress for stricter laws regulating ingredients in cosmetics.
