Krept 'in so much pain' after violent knife attack as he parties with Amber Gill
Krept & Konan made a surprise appearance at Amber Gill’s Miss Pap collection launch party on Thursday, less than a week after Krept was slashed backstage at a BBC Live event.
‘Even though I’m injured right now, we gotta turn up for Amber,’ said Krept as they performed on stage.
‘We need to celebrate when our people are doing good things.
‘Big up Miss Pap and Amber for having us.’
He added: ‘I really shouldn’t be here performing because I am f***ing in so much pain but I am here for Samir, the team, and right now make some noise for Amber right now.’
The 29-year-old rapper was injured during an altercation at the music event in Birmingham on Saturday night (5 October), and received medical support on-site but was not taken to hospital.
However, the pals were both in attendance at Tape nightclub on Thursday to help Love Island star Amber celebrate the launch of her £1 million deal with the clothing company.
‘He seemed thrilled to be there,’ a source told Metro.co.uk.
‘He kept telling everyone how much pain he was in, and making fun of his limp, but it didn’t stop him putting on a show for us.’
West Midlands Police did not name the man who was injured but social media rumours suggested Krept was the party involved.
Speaking out for the first time a day later, Krept tweeted on Sunday: ‘My people thanks for the messages Im good, ill be back in no time. God was with me trust me. Cant keep a good man down [sic].’
In an audio clip which was later leaked, Krept could be heard explaining that around 30 thugs approached him backstage and grabbed the chain dedicated to his late cousin Cadet, who died in February.
The large group of attackers then stabbed him multiple times in several places on his body.
West Midlands Police have appealed to the public to contact them with any information they may have about the incident.
BBC 1Xtra Live was expected to see Wizkid headline and featured the likes of AJ Tracey, French Montana, Aitch and Ms Banks on the line-up.
