Former Nirvana bandmates Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl performed together during the Foo Fighters‘ gig at Safeco Field, Seattle on Saturday night. The duo revisited the Vaselines track “Molly’s Lips.”
“This is an old song, we haven’t done this song together in a long time,” Grohl told that crowd after welcoming Novoselic onstage.
This is the second time Foo Fighters and Novoselic have played the cover live together. Earlier, they had performed the song together at a concert in Scotland in September 2015.
The Vaselines were known to be one of Kurt Cobain‘s, the Nirvana’s founder, favorite bands. Nirvana have performed “Molly’s Lips” about 50 times and even included their version on 1992’s Incesticide.
Novoselic’s new band Giants in the Trees are set to perform at the Grohl-curated Cal Jam 2018 on October 16 in San Bernardino, California.
