Might as well start them while they’re young.
In a video posted to her YouTube channel on Tuesday, new mom Kylie Jenner gives fans a tour of her cavernous, custom “purse closet” and shows off the dozens of Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Fendi and Prada bags inside.
Tucked among all those pricey purses? A special pink mini Hermès Kelly bag that the 21-year-old says will one day belong to her daughter, Stormi Webster.
“This one I’m definitely gonna let Stormi wear, probably, when she says, ‘Mommy, I want to carry a purse.’ So this is probably going to be her first purse,” Jenner says.
A mini Kelly in a similar color is currently listed at $27,000 on 1stdibs, though it’s not uncommon for Hermès bags to climb into the six-figure range, depending on materials and added features.
But gifting designer bags to small children is par for the course when you’re a Kardashian. During the video tour, Jenner also points out a $1,100 Louis Vuitton Speedy bag that her mother Kris Jenner gifted to both her daughters when they were “super babies” — and that, she adds, will one day be handed down to Stormi.
Other special pieces in the beauty mogul’s purse closet include a $5,500 Judith Leiber bag shaped like a lipstick tube (a gift from Kim Kardashian) and a $1,530 Louis Vuitton Alma bag painted with a custom portrait of Kris Jenner (a gift from Kris herself).
Perhaps Jenner’s favorite of the lot, however, is her rare Hermès Himalaya crocodile Kelly bag, which she says is the one purse she’d save if her house was on fire. In 2017, a Himalaya Kelly sold at auction for over $150,000, according to Christie’s.
Though an entire room built solely to hold designer purses may seem excessive, Jenner assures her fans that her accessory collection has a higher purpose. “They’re a great investment,” she says with a wink.
