Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande were about to perform “Rain on Me” live for the first time – but they canceled their plans, and it has to do with The Chainsmokers.
The two superstars were due to perform at the Drive ‘N Drag Tour stop at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles this week, according to Page Six.

However, their plans abruptly came to a halt because of growing concerns regarding public safety following the Chainsmokers‘ lack of coronavirus precautions during a recent performance at what was meant to be a safer “drive-in” event in The Hamptons.
“Gaga really wanted to do it, but the Rose Bowl pulled the plug because of what happened in the Hamptons. They feared that once the crowd realized who it was, they would run toward the stage, not social distance, and they feared they’d lose their license,” a source told Page Six.
The drive-in event will go on with stars including Asia O’Hara, Plastique Tiara, Kameron Michaels, Jaida Essence Hall, Vanessa Vanjie Mateo and Violet Chachki performing.
Gaga has been very careful about her socially responsible messaging amid the pandemic.
