Lady Gaga’s go-to A Star Is Born anecdote about Bradley Cooper is hilarious

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper will have been doing interview after interview on the promotional trail for new film A Star Is Born.

But it seems she’s armed and ready with a go-to anecdote – and it’s hilarious when you realise how often she uses it.

Gaga – real name Stefani Germanotta – has repeatedly said on chat shows, red carpets, and on stage, that Bradley is so special to her because he believed in her.

Her speech goes: "There can be 100 people in the room and 99 don’t believe in you, and you just need one to believe in you, and that was him."

One fan who noticed the repetition edited together a video that shows Gaga pulling out the line over and over again for a minute and a half.

It’s a killer quote, but does lose a bit of sparkle when it’s heard over and over again.

And while some of the interviews are solo, Bradley is alongside her for most of them, meaning he would have heard her gushing speech a fair few times.

Gaga’s speech varies slightly every time, as she says things like that one person believing in you can "change your life".

In a clip from later in one of her speeches, she pulls it out again but makes it even more dramatic, telling the crowd: "I probably said this earlier, but there can be 100 people or 1,000 people in the room and 9,000 or 999 don’t believe in you, and one does, and I would not be here without you [points to Bradley]."

Fans thought it was hilarious.

One said: "What’s funny is how she says it like it’s a fresh thought everytime"

Another joked: "But what happens when there’s 100 people in the room who don’t believe in you and no Bradley Cooper?"

"If i was Bradley i would be mouthing the phrase behind her," another suggested.

Some may be a little confused by Gaga’s story too, as it seems to suggest that she was a nobody who Bradley took a chance on her by casting her in the movie.

But what she’s more likely to be referring to is Bradley’s decision to include her original music in the flick.

Gaga has also said that Bradley had to convince other people to have her in the movie.

In the movie, Bradley plays rock star Jackson Maine who meets Gaga’s character Ally one night in a chance encounter.

After stumbling into a bar in search of a late-night drink, he hears her sing and instantly falls in love.

And when he invites her on stage, he ends up launching Ally into super stardom – but their relationship is plagued by troubles brought on by his alcohol and drug misuse.
