Laura Whitmore has praised comedian Chris Ramsey’s podcast Sh**ged, Married, Annoyed for saving her relationship with husband Iain Stirling.
The Love Island stars secretly got married in November and are expecting their first child together.
However, it all could have been different had they not switched on Chris and his wife Rosie’s podcast about relationships during a particularly tense drive.
Speaking to Rosie on the hit podcast, Laura, 35, explained that she had to drive back to Ireland from London at Christmas 2019, because their dog Mick isn’t allowed on the plane.
According to the Mirror, Laura said: ‘It’s eight hours to Holyhead and then there’s a boat to Dublin and then three and a half hours to where my mum is.
‘So me and Iain were doing that drive and by the end of the drive, we thought, “I want to kill you, get out of the car”.’
But it turns out all they needed was a switch-up in their in-car entertainment.
She continued: ‘We were listening to a lot of murder podcasts, so I said, “Let’s just throw on a little bit of Rosie and Chris – Sh**ged, Married Annoyed” and you saved our relationship so I want to thank you right now.
‘We had a lovely giggle. We needed that.’
Fast forward a year, and Laura and Iain, 32, are Mr and Mrs after tying the knot in an intimate ceremony at Dublin’s City Hall.
Sharing a picture from their wedding day, for which she wore a striking white suit, Laura explained on Instagram: ‘A year ago Iain asked me to marry him and we had the most magical, perfect ceremony. We loved having it to ourselves. We had been planning the perfect celebration and I will forever be so thankful that’s what we got.’
The couple, who met in 2016 at an ITV party, are also expecting their first child together in early March.
Meanwhile, Chris and Rosie are also dealing with nappies and newborn clothes after welcoming their second child together this week.
Rosie confirmed that she gave birth to son Rafe on January 6, sharing a picture to Instagram and writing: ‘This is Rafe Ramsey ? Born yesterday afternoon weighing 9lbs 1oz.
‘He’s absolutely wonderful and looks EXACTLY like his brother! like, it’s uncanny!’
Strictly star Chris, 34, and his wife are also parents to five-year-old Robin.
The couple, who got married in 2014, have had huge success with Sh**ged, Married, Annoyed, which has racked up over 25 million downloads and spawned a bestselling book and a live tour.
