Louise Minchin took to social media last night to share some pictures from the Mersey Maritime Award ceremony where she certainly brought some glamour to the proceedings. The presenter, who left BBC Breakfast on Wednesday after almost 20 years on the early morning programme, dazzled in a silver sequined gown.
Louise snapped a selfie at the event which showcased her glam look.
The 53-year-old opted for an off-the-shoulder sparkly number which she teamed with a delicate silver necklace.
The TV star wore her blonde tresses in loose curls and enhanced her good looks with glam make-up.
“Sparkles for the marvellous Mersey Maritime Awards,” she captioned a picture that she posted on Instagram, in view of her 85,400 followers.
Louise also shared an additional picture on Twitter, after updating her profile to read “former resident of the @BBCBreakfast sofa”.
“What a lovely excuse to get dressed up for the Mersey Maritime Awards #MMIA21 @Mersey_Maritime,” she tweeted.
“You look fantastic,” Twitter user ThinkingSlimmer remarked in the comments section of her post.
“And no 3.15am alarm call,” user retfordgal pointed out, referring to the time that she had to set her alarm for BBC Breakfast.
Sharing a similar thought, user SteveHodgy wrote: “You can attend a few more of these award night’s without worrying about the alarm clock now.”
“Looking great, will miss you on Breakfast before my morning commute all the best,” user tony_larkin1 added.
Louise was joined by a host of family and friends on her emotional final breakfast show.
She also received a string of farewell messages from her colleagues – past and present.
For the past five and a half years, the broadcast journalist has hosted the programme with Dan Walker.
The Strictly star presented his co-host with an espresso cup with the phrase “we don’t touch,” which referenced one of their earliest memories together.
Louise explained the reason behind the message during her appearance on the show and later mentioned it in a social media update.
Alongside a picture of the pair cuddling from her last day, she told her 221,700 followers: “I have so many happy memories of yesterday.”
“I am still reading your lovely messages, thank you so much.
“This photo captures the fun I have had with @mrdanwalker especially as we broke our ‘we don’t touch’ rule for the first time ever.
“Good luck Dan in everything you do!” she lovingly added.
Dan is about to take part in this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing, which kicks off tonight.
