Louise Redknapp: Jamie Redknapp’s ex talks ‘PVC and dog collar’ regret ‘It haunts me’
Louise Redknapp has spoken candidly about a career regret, which harked back to her days in girl band Eternal. The former wife of Jamie Redknapp cited PVC and a dog collar as she candidly recalled the embarrassing moment. The 44-year-old said it was all down to an appearance on TV show, Top Of The Pops, alongside her bandmates Easther Bennett and her older sister Vernie as well as Kéllé Bryan. She said the “pictures will haunt me forever” as she also spoke about her scantily-clad look in her new music video.
How did we get away with guys in black PVC trousers and dog collars? It was very S&M
Speaking on the Official Charts: Take The Hit podcast about her career regrets, Louise commented: “Wearing blue PVC on Top Of The Pops with a dog collar, those pictures will haunt me forever!”
She continued: “How did we get away with guys in black PVC trousers and dog collars? It was very S&M.
“It was just out there! I’ve still got that outfit – might turn up in it one day!”
The ensemble she was referring to saw her showcase her incredible figure in very little, while the tight top teased her cleavage.
The mother-of-two now curates fashion and lifestyle blog, A Style Album, with close friend Emma Rose Thatcher.
Meanwhile, Louise went on to admit she expected criticism for not wearing enough clothes recently.
The singer, who split from Jamie in 2017 after 19 years of marriage, unveiled comeback single Stretch earlier this year.
“It was sexy but still quite funky,” she stated.
“It was a bit more of a risk… and we went for it in the video. I knew it would divide opinion, the look of it.”
Louise added: ”People would either love it or say, ‘She should be wearing more clothes, she shouldn’t be so sexy, she’s a mum’ etc.
“But I know where my boundaries and lines are and I think it looks sporty and cool.”
It comes just hours after she enjoyed some rare time off with a number of well-known faces.
Louise watched Robbie Williams at Barclaycard’s BST Hyde Park on Sunday evening, before sharing a number of snaps with her 637,000 Instagram followers.
“Thank you #barclaycardbst and @megancarveruk for an amazing night @robbiewilliams @isabelmarant @roxannefirst,” she captioned one.
With her hair in a ponytail, she teamed a pale pink skirt with a matching jumper, and unusual black heels.
Louise is on Official Charts: Take The Hit, available on podcast players, including Acast.
