Viewers were hoping their reality TV romance would go the distance.
But, sadly, the relationship between Love Island’s Jack Fowler and Laura Crane is officially over.
The pair, who met on the ITV dating show and stayed together for eight weeks after their fateful introduction, confirmed the news in a gushing statement on Sunday morning.
Together, the 23-year-old surfer and the semi-professional footballer, 22, blamed hectic schedules for the decision.
Despite the heartache, they’ve also promised to remain good friends.
Exes at war on TV
Speaking to Metro , she said: "Sadly Jack and I have both decided to go our separate ways due to such busy schedules right now and not having the time to spend together.
"Feel truly blessed to have got to share my Love Island experience with him and to have made a friend for life.
"We will carry on supporting each other on this journey and I can’t wait to see where it takes us."
Jack then added: "We met in extraordinary circumstances and had an amazing time getting to know each other, both whilst in the villa and outside of it but our lives are currently taking us in different directions.
"We will remain friends and I will support her in whatever she does.
"I wish her all the best. See you soon surfer girl!"
This makes them the third Love Island couple to break-up.
Samira Mighty and Frankie Foster split, last month, while Laura Anderson and (the impossibly hot) Paul Knops also went their separate ways.
Fortunately, the programme’s winners – Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham – are still going strong.
