Love Island stars have been bombarded with death threats and abuse after flaunting their tips to Dubai and other tropical destinations amid the pandemic.

One Love Island star’s agent has revealed how they “warned” the star not to go ahead with the trip, but they went anyway.

After flaunting their trip to the United Arab Emirates the reality star was flooded with messages, including one which said they hoped the star would die from Covid-19.

The agent told Mirror Online: “We manage their social media accounts and I’ve seen a number of death threats in direct messages.

“It’s been relentless. We warned them not to travel abroad while a lot of the nation is under severe restrictions as it’s a terrible look, but they ignored it.”

Some stars left the UK when the country was still in Tier 2 and 3 restrictions, when the travel advice was strict. But, others left from Tier 4 areas, including London.

Going abroad is permitted under Tier 4 if your travel is required for work purposes only.

The agent continued: “You have to remember a lot of what constitutes work for them is doing vlogs or posting Instagram shots advertising diet drinks.

“It’s work but in a very loose sense. But it’s enough to allow them to travel. The free hotels offered in return for publicity are doubtless a nice perk too.

“But it has gone down like a lead balloon with their fans, and you have to wonder if it’s really worth it.”

A number of stars have jetted off to Dubai including Amber Gill, Laura Anderson, who recently hit back at critics, Amber Davies, Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, who were criticised for not wearing their masks during their trip.

Love Island winner Amber, 23, was forced to defend herself after she jetted off to Dubai moments after Boris Johnson announced London would be going into Tier 4 restrictions.

Fans assumed the trip to Dubai was a last-minute one as she shared clips of herself at an airport, moments after Boris Johnson imposed a travel ban on London and some parts of the south east on Saturday 19 December.

Shortly before she had posted the videos of her trip, Amber shared a post which read: “Let me just collect my things real quick.”

She later shared a photo of her pedicured feet in the business class section on the way to Dubai.

Amber’s posts appeared to anger fans who vented on Twitter.

Another wrote: “What a stupid women . Self centred idiot. Amber Gill books a last-minute getaway to Dubai after London introduces Tier 4 lockdown restrictions”.

But, the reality star has now posted on her Instagram story to set the record straight.

Amber shared a photo of her breakfast table in Dubai and wrote on top: “Just want to put it out there I had no idea tier 4 was a thing.

“The flight here was booked way before I thought the only changes were being made on the 16th Meaning I was still allowed to travel for work”.
