Mariah Carey‘s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” has returned to the top spot on Billboard‘s Hot 100 songs chart.
The Billboard Hot 100 ranks songs based on U.S. streaming, radio airplay and sales data, as compiled by MRC Data.
The Christmas classic rose a step from No.2 on the chart dated December 25, with 37.6 million U.S. streams and 26.1 million radio airplay audience impressions in the December 10-16 tracking week.
A track from Carey’s 1994 album Merry Christmas, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” is an up-tempo love song that includes bell chimes, backing vocals and synthesizers. The song has become a Christmas standard and continues to surge in popularity each holiday season.
Billboard noted “All I Want for Christmas Is You” is now the first song in the chart’s history to have led in three distinct runs.
The song was also ranked No. 1 on Billboard‘s Greatest of All Time Holiday 100 Songs Chart, the Streaming Songs chart and Holiday 100 Songs Chart.
