The Voice: Olly Murs says he ‘got emotional again’

Olly Murs, 36, has opened up about his emotions on Instagram after singer Andrew Bateup joined his team on The Voice UK. In the episode which aired this evening, Andrew showcased his talents with a rendition of Michael Bolton’s How Am I Supposed To Live Without You.

Both Olly and Sir Tom Jones turned for the contestant, but Andrew eventually decided he wanted to work with the former during his time on the ITV show.

Olly welled up following Andrew’s performance as he explained why he opted to choose him to be his coach, after he turned his chair for him first.

After watching the heartfelt moment back at home this evening, the Trouble Maker singer admitted he was feeling emotional once again.

Olly said in a video which he shared with his 3.4 million followers: “Oh my God, how lovely is Andrew Bateup?

“What a guy and again, I say it every week, it’s so lovely to sit here and watch this back and see his story, where he’s come from, and the journey he’s been on so far.

“So welcome to my team Andrew!” 

“Got me emotional again this week but welcome to my team,” the star candidly added. 

Olly also sent a message to Andrew in a separate post on his page.

 

He penned: “Mr @andrewbateup it’s a pleasure to have you part of my team!! 

“Another emotional week watching it back jeez.

“You’re such a great great guy! 

“Thanks for picking me, let’s get a vocal lesson in soon hopefully I’ll be able to hit them same notes.”(sic)
