It’s clear we’re all keen to get moving even though we’re all cooped up inside as a massive 800,000 people tuned in to workout with Joe Wicks for his first YouTube Live PE session amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Last week the fitness influencer announced he was going to be holding virtual workouts at 9am each day, Monday-Friday in the hopes of keeping kids active while they’re not at school.
Well, we’re not sure about you, but it was evident more than kids were tuning in as the counter passed the 800k mark around 9.20am today.
That’s right, nearly 1million people tuned in to get fit with The Body Coach himself.
Realising the madness that was ensuing online, Joe, while taking a breather, said during the live-stream: ‘We’re in Korea, we’re in Jamaica – this YouTube has gone global!’
Taking us all thought our paces with a workout that included everything from running on the spot to boxing, Joe himself was working up quite a sweat.
‘I’m a fit dude, but I’m finding it tough,’ he said between exhausted pants.
However, it was clear he only wanted this stream to be temporary – no matter how successful it may become over the coming weeks.
‘I will do this as long as the schools are closed,’ he said, before later adding: ‘We’re going to return to normal and be reconnected again.’
As he wrapped up his sweaty class, Joe yelled: ‘What a workout, yes! I loved it. I absolutely loved it.’

It comes after The Body Coach, 33, told his followers he would be leading classes kids can do from their homes to make sure they are still getting some exercise.
He said on Twitter: ‘Hello everybody, I’m Joe Wicks The Body Coach and I’ve got an exciting announcement to make.
‘Starting Monday, every single day from Monday to Friday I’m going to do a live workout called PE with Joe on my Youtube Channel, TheBodyCoachTV.
‘It’s a workout specifically designed for kids because when the schools are closed there is no PE. Don’t worry, I’ve got you – I’m going to take this over.
‘I’m going to get your kids moving, feeling energised, positive, optimistic. So tune in Monday morning 9am and every day Monday to Friday.
‘It’s a 30 minute session for little kids right up to secondary school to get involved and have fun. We’re going to be doing loads of basic exercises, you don’t need a lot of room.’
Joe declared himself the ‘nation’s PE teacher’ as schools around the country are set to close from Friday to help curb the spread of coronavirus.
And, hey, 800k people can’t be wrong.
