Patrick McEnroe says Serena Williams’ catsuit drama is ‘ridiculous’

Tennis star-turned-ESPN announcer Patrick McEnroe is behind Serena Williams all the way after her catsuit fight with the French Open organizers.

“I think it’s ridiculous. Let Serena wear what she wants,” said McEnroe of the Paris tournament’s decision to ban the one-pieces after Williams sported a black one in the May competition.

Fortunately, he says the US Open — which began Aug. 21 and runs through next Sunday — is much less stuffy.

“This is a show here,” McEnroe said of the NYC tournament. “It’s not just about the tennis.”

While McEnroe — who does daily Open commentary alongside his tennis-icon brother, John — doesn’t fault Williams’ wardrobe, he doesn’t love what the fans sometimes wear.

“There are always people coming to watch, [dressed] in full-on tennis attire. I’m like, ‘What are you doing? You’re going to go out there and play?’ If you go to a football game, are you going to wear your football uniform?’ ”
