Prince Harry invites three ex-girlfriends to royal wedding with Meghan Markle
Prince Harry will reportedly have three of his ex-girlfriends at his wedding to Meghan Markle on Saturday May 19 after extending an invite to Ellie Goulding.
It was previously reported that Harry, who will wed the former Suits actress in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle at midday, had added Chelsy Davy and Cressida Bonas to his exclusive guestlist.
And now it’s said that the royal has added rumoured former flame Ellie, who he was spotted getting close to at a polo event two years ago before he met Meghan.
Ellie has reportedly been invited along with her 26-year-old boyfriend Caspar Jopling, who studied at Eton College.
“Ellie has stayed good pals with Harry and is obviously really excited," a source told The Sun.
“She has no plans to perform this time but just wants to celebrate her friend’s marriage. Princess Eugenie’s also a close friend, so she’ll fit right in.”
Back in February, a friend of Harry’s told the Daily Mail that the royal couple have invited Chelsy and Cressida.
They said: "Harry has stayed good friends with Chelsy and Cressida, so they will be there.
"He made sure there were no hard feelings when they split up. I don’t think Meghan will mind."
Here’s a round-up of Harry’s other exes…
Harry started dating Zimbabwean-born Chelsy when she was a teenager at boarding school in England.
They got together after meeting again in Cape Town, which Harry visited on his gap year. Harry and Chelsy, a trained lawyer, were on-and-off for seven years before splitting up for good in 2011.
The Army officer then spent a year single, before hooking up with Cressida, an actress and model. The pair were introduced by Princess Eugenie, and dated for two years.
Cressida and Eugenie remain good friends. Eugenie invited the actress to her autumn 2018 wedding.
Despite attending the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding in 2011, Chelsy admitted life as a princess wasn’t for her.
The Burberry muse met Harry in 2012 and the pair dated on and off until 2014.
At the time of their split, a friend said: “It’s very sad that they have decided to split but this is a completely amicable separation and they are remaining the very best of friends.”
When Camilla Thurlow first went into Love Island, all anyone could talk about was the fact she’s Prince Harry’s ex.
They were linked shortly after his split from Cressida when, according to The Sun, Harry had been spotted “in a clinch” with Scottish Camilla at the Tonteria nightclub in Sloane Square.
She remained coy about it throughout her time on the ITV2 show.
But, according to Now magazine, a source close to Camilla said: “Harry thought she was amazing and seemed to want something serious, but she refused to open up to him through fear of being rejected.
“It was Camilla’s reservations that stopped their romance from going anywhere.”
Caroline Flack and Prince Harry were introduced by mutual friends in 2009.
In her autobiography Storm in a C Cup, the former X Factor host called herself Harry’s “bit of rough” and said they were forced to call off their romance after the “story got out”.
Mollie King and Prince Harry went on a few dates in 2012.
The Strictly Come Dancing star previously confessed: “Yes, I have met Harry, and we did go out for a drink.”
However, Harry reportedly called things off and Mollie went on to date David Gandy.
Lingerie model Florence Brudenell-Bruce – known to her pals as ‘Flea’ – had a brief summer fling with Harry in 2011.
Florence, who has also been linked to F1 star Jenson Button, went on to marry multi-millionaire Henry St George in the south of France, and she and Harry remain friends.
Who else is going to the royal wedding?
Other guests rumoured to be attending the pair’s nuptials include Harry’s pals Tom Inskip, Thomas van Straubenzee, Arthur Landon and Guy Pelly .
Natalie Pinkham, Ben Fogle and Joss Stone are also likely to be on Harry’s list. Kate’s sister Pippa invited Harry to her wedding last year, so it is likely she and husband James Matthews will be on the guestlist.
Meghan is pals with former Made In Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh as well as Sophie Ellis-Bexter and her rock star husband Richard Jones.
The actress is also very close to her Suits co-stars which could mean invites for Patrick J Adamsand his wife, Pretty Little Liars star Troian Bellasario, and Gabriel Macht and his Bridget Jones’ actress wife Jacinda Barrett.
She’s also likely to invite co-stars Sarah Rafferty and Gina Torres, best known for hit Firefly, who she previously asked for advice, saying: “Sarah and Gina give me such great advice – not just on being a good actor but being a wife and mom some day.”
Sir Elton John has cancelled two concerts on the weekend of the royal wedding and appears set to attend.
Mirror Online has contacted Buckingham Palace for comment.
