Prince William Says He Wishes Dad Prince Charles Would Spend More Time With The Grandchildren
Prince William and Prince Harry want their father Prince Charles to spend a little more time with family!
With The Prince of Wales’ 70th birthday approaching on November 14, it’s understandable why these brothers want their dad — who already has three grandkids and another one on the way — to put work on the back burner for a bit.
In a new BBC One documentary Prince, Son & Heir: Charles At 70 honoring the beloved royal’s birthday milestone, William candidly expresses his hopes:
“I would like him to have more time with the children. Having more time with him at home would be lovely, and being able to, you know, play around with the grandchildren. When he’s there, he’s brilliant, but we need him there as much as possible.”
Charles’ wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, backs William up, agreeing that her husband is fantastic with kids:
“He reads Harry Potter and he can do all the different voices and I think children really appreciate that. He will get down on his knees and crawl about with them for hours, you know, making funny noises and laughing, and my grandchildren adore him, absolutely adore him.”
Aww! Who doesn’t love time with their grandpa?! Can you just imagine those cute Harry Potter bedtime stories?
And when you consider how young Prince George, 5, Prince Charlotte, 3, and Prince George, 6 months, are, having another loving, playful adult present in their life is no doubt a treat.
Harry doubles down on his brother’s feelings by adding that although his father has some serious work ethic, Charles needs to take a step back, and focus on taking care of himself for the sake of their growing family:
“He does need to slow down. This is a man who has dinner ridiculously late at night, and then goes to his desk later that night and will fall asleep on his notes to the point where he’ll wake up with a piece of paper stuck to his face. The man never stops. When we were kids, there were bags and bags and bags of work that the office just sent to him. We could barely even get to his desk to say goodnight to him.”
Hmm, hopefully things will change when the Baby of Sussex arrives! Family first!
