Queen caught in rare unguarded moment as she touches up her own lipstick

The Queen was spotted reapplying her lipstick in the middle of the Platinum Jubilee Celebration on the final day of the Royal Windsor Horse Show on 15 May.

Her Majesty, 96, appeared relaxed as she carried out the brief touch up whilst sat with fellow guests during the commemorative event, which saw several acts perform in her honour.

Last week saw the Queen make her first public appearance in six weeks as she attended the Platinum Jubilee event at Windsor Castle.

She arrived at the special celebration in her Land Rover car wearing a light blue buttoned blouse and an embellished shawl over the top. She was later pictured with a black handbag on her lap as she took out a pink lipstick to reapply some.

Fans were pleasantly surprised to see the monarch carrying out the beauty task herself appearing just like the rest of them.

"Y’all can trust Our Queen with her lipstick. Slaying at 96! #TheQueen #PlatinumJubileeCelebrationon," one excited person wrote on Twitter, while another added: "Nice to see her out & about again! And she looks bloody well!"

It appeared that the Queen experienced a range of emotions during the show as tributes were given in celebration of her 70 years on the throne.

The musical segments included performances from acts such as Katherine Jenkins, and the monarch was looking especially pleased as she was even seen cheering during the event.

A selection of horse presentations were also showcased, leaving the horse-loving monarch thoroughly impressed.

The Queen did get visibly emotional though at one point though, as she watched her granddaughter Lady Louise drive her late husband Prince Philip’s carriage in a touching tribute.

The 18 year old daughter of Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex made her appearance during the finale of the Gallop Through History segment, sporting a traditional khaki green blazer and white shirt worn underneath.

The Queen appeared almost teary-eyed as she took in the tribute, touching fans with her reaction online as one fan wrote on Twitter: "The Queen was so emotional today, especially when she saw Prince Philip's carriage. You could see it in her eyes."

Another viewer commented: "It’s wonderful to see HM the Queen out and about. I’m not surprised she went really especially with Lady Louise riding Prince Philip’s horse and carriage HM looks very well and happy #GodSavetheQueen.”

Speaking on the Queen’s happy mood elsewhere at the Jubilee event, another fan added: "So nice to see Her Majesty The Queen enjoying herself this evening. The display of talent from around the globe is incredible… #PlatinumJubilee #ITV.”
