Queen Letizia laughs off wardrobe blunder as she twins with woman in exact same dress

The fashion-forward crowd can often rely on royalty for outfit inspiration as they turn up to public appearances and events dressed immaculately in effortlessly chic designs.

But instead of just copying their style, one woman has ended up dressing exactly like a royal highness when attending Queen Letizia's award ceremony in Merida, Spain.

Law professor Inmaculada Vivas Tesón was wearing the exact same £59 Mango dress as Queen Letizia – and the pair managed to laugh it off with grace.

The professor at the University of Sevilla was pictured on Wednesday on stage collecting a prize from the Queen at the awards – which is convened by the Council of the Royal Board of Trustees on Disability to "promote the rights of people with disabilities, social inclusion, equal opportunities, rehabilitation and prevention of disabilities."

When the Queen congratulated Inmaculada Vivas Tesón for her award, the two women were pictured bursting into laughter over the wardrobe blunder.

Her Majesty highlighted "her professional career in the work of people with disabilities, as well as for her academic and research career in the legal field, developing compliance with the precepts set forth in the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities".

Giggling, the two women then hugged each other, as the 49 year old monarch gave her a special mention for her research work.

The sleeveless monochrome dress features one side white, and the other black, cinched in at the waist with a chunky black belt.

It retails at £59.99 from high street retailer Mango and is part of their spring-summer 2022 collection.

The two-tone A-line dress also comes with a subtle split at the front. Both women paired it with black court heels.

Walking into the venue at Assembly of Extremadura, Queen Letizia was also seen carrying a patent leather small square handbag, which completed the elegant look.

The image of the two women in matching outfits has been shared widely across the internet and within Queen Letizia social media fan pages.

In one Instagram account where the snap was shared of the pair laughing as they embraced, one fan replied: "Love the way her Majesty handles the situation. She shows her modesty, simplicity and humour."

Another fan, commenting on the dress, remarked: "If it's good enough for the queen, it's certainly good enough for her haha".
