We’re gonna let you finish Pope Francis, but Rihanna stepped out in the chicest Pope fit of all time. In fact, it was SO amazing that she basically shut down the 2018 Met Gala the moment she set foot on that red carpet.
Let’s be real here, RiRi and the Met Gala are like sand at the beach, they’re a packaged deal. The songstress never fails to slay and always does the utmost justice to the annual gala’s theme. This year, the theme was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” and Rihanna literally showed up as the Pope.
Dressed in Maison Margiela, the 30-year-old wore an intricately beaded and embroidered papal headdress with a matching strapless mini dress, attached skirt, and overcoat. When we say Rih went all out for the gala, we literally mean it.
The “Diamonds” songstress accessorized the decorated look with a cross pendant, bedazzled Christian Louboutins, several rings, and a small clutch. Naturally, fans lost their minds along with everyone else who was there to witness the super iconic fashion moment.
As we mentioned before, this wasn’t the first time the singer turned beauty mogul has turned heads at the Met Gala and something tells us it definitely won’t be the last. Back in 2015 when the theme was “China: Through the Looking Glass,” Rihanna showed up in an unforgettable yellow coat dress that literally spanned the entire staircase of the Met. RiRi does not play when it comes to paying homage to fashion and this year was no different.
