Sarah Ferguson ‘snubbed’ from royal wedding party hosted by Prince Charles

The Duchess of York has been left off the guestlist for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s evening wedding celebrations hosted by Prince Charles, it’s been reported.

Sarah Ferguson, 58, is said to be ‘deeply unhappy’ to not have received an invite to the couple’s second, private evening reception where around 250 guests will be present.

Fergie has received an invite to the ceremony at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle and to the subseqent reception – as has her ex Prince Andrew and Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

But while they have also been invited to the later do that Charles is hosting and paying for at Frogmore House, the Daily Mail reports that Sarah hasn’t.

The Duchess fell out of favour with the royals after her divorce from Andrew in 1996 but she was invited back to Balmoral last year as a guest of the Queen.

A royal insider told the newspaper: "Numbers are limited to the evening party, she is not a member of the Royal Family any more and Prince Charles simply doesn’t have time for her.

"He just can’t see why she is still such a big part of his brother’s life."

She wasn’t invited to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding in 2011 at Westminster Abbey and spent time in Thailand instead.

Fergie’s invite to the wedding itself is said to have caused a ‘massive headache’ because the likes of Prince Charles and other senior royals reportedly didn’t want her to attend.

It’s said that it was Harry, who is very close to Eugenie, who did want her there. They are said to have kept in touch over the years, and Sarah went skiing with Harry and his former girlfriend Cressida Bonas five years ago.

"He absolutely, 100 per cent wants her there and has told palace officials that in no uncertain terms," a source explained.
