Strictly’s Shirley Ballas reveals the before and after results of her breast implant removal surgery and admits she was in ‘pain’ after appearing on the show just DAYS after operation

And Shirley Ballas showcased a before and after look of her surgery results during an appearance on Monday’s Lorraine. 

The TV judge, 59, also admitted that she was in ‘pain’ when she appeared on Strictly on Saturday as she decided to use ‘minimal painkillers’.

Shirley, who was accompanied by her boyfriend Danny Taylor on the show, opened up about the ’emotional’ aftermath of the operation, and also revealed how difficult it was to appear on live TV just days after.

She told host Lorraine Kelly, 59, ‘I’m good. It’s definitely been an emotional week for sure.

‘I made a commitment to the show and I wanted to see it through. I made a decision to put them in and I made the decision to take them out.’

When asked if taking part in Strictly on Saturday was ‘painful’, she added: ‘It is and it was for the show and I chose to take minimal painkillers. I didn’t want to be on anything for the show.’

Discussing her recovery, she stated: ‘Every day it will get better. About 6 to 8 weeks recuperation’.

However, she insisted that her health issues will not get in the way of her judging duties on the BBC dance series as she claimed: ‘I won’t [miss a show].’

Shirley went under the knife on Tuesday for the four-and-a-half hour operation to have her breasts reduced back to their natural A-cup, and it appeared she was still in the midst of recovery on Saturday as she gingerly made her way down the stairs.

Shirley looked sensational as she headed towards the panel in preparation to judge the remaining nine couples.

The former Latin dance champion slowly made her way down the stairs dressed in a chic black tuxedo with a matching bow blouse clearly still fragile following the surgery.

As pre and post surgery snaps of the star appeared on screen, Shirley confessed that after seeing what can grow beneath the implant, she would never have had them done had she’d known the implications.

She said: ‘I had them done 17 years ago… [if I could] go back, I would never have done it.

‘I did not do enough research… really do study the whole procedure. It is not how it seems to be. It really was quite disturbing’. 

On how she feels post-surgery, Shirley explained: ‘I do feel more like myself. I’m still getting used to it – all the clothes are a little bit different now. It was a DD, now it’s an A/B, it’s quite a difference in bust size. 

‘Before they were heavy, they were weighted, there was cancer in my family, I was concerned about that.’

Reflecting on her decision to go under the knife, she added: ‘It wasn’t a decision I made lightly.

‘It’s a decision that’s taken me a while to come to and to have the courage to do it, particularly during the run of the show.’

In an interview with The Sun on Friday, Shirley admitted she was told by doctors not to return to work, but she was determined to appear on the show.

She added: ‘I have stuck to all of Dr Waterhouse’s rules apart from one, which was: “Don’t go to work on Saturday!”‘
